Monday 11 July 2011
The Palms Shopping Centre
The Palms Shopping Centre in Shirley has had a team of professional advisors reviewing the building following the 13 June earthquakes, to determine the scope and timing of additional repairs required.
These reviews are now complete and the final scope of remedial works is known.
Keryn Ward, The Palms Shopping Centre manager says, “We have now received and reviewed reports from the various specialist consultants that have inspected the centre since 13 June. We have been working through the required repairs and can advise that the centre will recommence trading on Thursday 8 September.
“AMP Capital Shopping Centres takes the welfare and safety of customers and retailers seriously, and is committed to reopening only when everything is repaired to an exemplary standard.
“We know our customers are looking forward to having their mall back and we are excited to now be in a position to announce the date.”
All sections of the mall will open on Thursday 8 September, including Countdown. However, Farmers, Kmart and Reading Cinemas will open at a later date, to be advised.
