Hue & Cry showcases New Zealand’s top new talents

Hue & Cry journal has released Issue Five with a bullet!, a bold statement of the best of new New Zealand art and literature.

Issue Five with a bullet! features many of New Zealand’s most exciting emerging talents with new work from award winning writers and artists,’ says publisher Chloe Lane.

The journal includes writing by Eleanor Catton (longlisted for the Orange Prize), Tina Makereti (“one to watch” – NZ Herald), and NZ Society of Authors Best First Book winners Pip Adam and Lynn Jenner.

Issue Five with a bullet! also features art by Tahi Moore, International art collective All The Cunning Stunts, a collaboration between Campbell Patterson & Daniel Munn, as well as art writing from Sriwhana Spong and Lydia Chai.

‘In Hue & Cry we take a curatorial approach to art, choosing and presenting work in similar way to a gallery exhibition.’

This approach is supported by the journal’s boldly minimalist design courtesy of acclaimed designers The International Office.

‘We hope readers will find issue five to be a stylish introduction to some of New Zealand’s best new art, poetry and prose.’

Hue & Cry: Issue Five with a bullet! goes on sale from 14 July 2011.
