Treble Cone introduces computerised ticketing and smart card

Treble Cone introduces computerised ticketing and smart card for 2011

Lake Wanaka, July 18, 2011 - The 2011 Treble Cone season sees the introduction of a new computerised ticketing system and smart card technology to enhance the customers’ experience and improve the ski field’s marketing and customer service.

The new computerised ticketing system enables the selling and servicing of all products at any sales point resulting in an all-round faster service. The system serves to speed up processing in the ticket office, cutting down queue times and maximising turn around. It also see’s the introduction of the reusable TC pass encouraging less material waste and acting as a tool to empower customers.

Automated gates on both chairlifts are reading passes without being removed from pockets. The new pass allows skiers and boarders to track their vertical metres over the season with the data being stored in a personal online account showing the amount of terrain they have covered over the season. Purchases can also be made over the internet to be recalled at any ticket office terminal. A paper free process means skiers and boarders can head straight to the lifts.

‘We are really excited about the new technology, and are confident that it will greatly improve everyone’s experience on the mountain. Compared to the previous system, transaction times are much shorter thanks to the new touch screen terminals at all sales points’, said Patrick Butler, Treble Cone’s Ticketing and Sales Team Leader.
