Good samaritans give 200% Christchurch winter aid
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 5 August 2011 – Members of the public have just days left to have Caltex match their donations to the Salvation Army, enabling the Sallies to buy warm blankets for people struggling to cope with the Christchurch winter after recent earthquakes.
“The Sallies put out a call for money to buy special blankets, so we’re running a quick donation promotion through Caltex service stations around New Zealand over the next week,” said Caltex spokesperson Sharon Buckland.
“For every $20 public donation, we will add $20 to buy a blanket or winter necessities,” she said.
“The Sallies will make sure 200% of these public donations get to where they’re most needed.”
