Press Release: Christchurch Airport
UPDATE for Christchurch Airport for 10am
While
Christchurch Airport remains OPEN there is now 8mm of snow
covering the full length of the main runway.
While
Christchurch International Airport remains operational -
Airlines and Air Traffic Control are advising aircraft of
any change in conditions
All aircraft movements remain at
the discretion of the Airlines.
Two Air New Zealand
international flights have departed this morning for
Brisbane and Melbourne and there have been two domestic
inbound arrivals.
But Singapore Airlines has now diverted
its inbound Christchurch flight to Auckland.
There have
been no domestic flights out...largely because of a large
amount of inbound aircraft not arriving.
It is essential
passengers check with their Airlines before commencing
travel.
