EPIC Spring at Treble Cone
This Week In Freshlines
EPIC Spring
With not long to go now until we reach the end of another season, it's exciting to see that we have awesome snow conditions to enjoy right until Closing Day! The upper half of the mountain has released to offer up fantastic forgiving snow on and off piste. The Saddle is in it's element with runs like Shooter, Saddleback and Mineshaft packed with plenty of soft snow. The Motatapu Chutes are skiing the best they have all season! This isn't just our opinion - check out Fraser MacDougall's latest blog.
Looking ahead bit of unsettled weather through into Saturday and then clearing away for another stunning run towards closing day. Remember Daylight savings are kicking in Sunday so time your run up to the mountain by the sun - not your watch - to follow the softening around.
MINI MOUNTAIN FUN
Last weekend we welcomed 80 ripping children to compete in the annual Pump Mini Mountain event, this year in Lower Gun Barrel. Head judge Tori Beattie, hot out of judging the NZ Open Big Mountain event was blown away by the level and creativity shown by the skiers and riders between 5 and 13 years. She is right in saying that the future of free skiing in NZ is looking pretty bright!! The days video highlights are here.
CLOSING Day
Dig out those old faithful ski's and party clothes now assigned to the 'dress up' box. You need to be seen to be believed, this Closing Day at TC on Sunday October 2nd. The Slush Cup will kick off at noon to entertain with rescue kindly provided by Scuba Tim from Rentals. Be prepared - bring a towel. Wanaka Beats will be entertaining on the deck.
