Run for your Freak’n Life

For Immediate Release

“Run for your Freak’n Life”

A ground-breaking 5 km obstacle race, with random zombie attacks is poised to invade Auckland on Sunday April 15th 2012, in an innovative Fun Run to celebrate the freaky fact that Spookers Haunted Attractions will have been open for 6 years, 6 months, and 6 days.

Spookers needed a HUGE celebration, worthy of the spookiest place in NZ reaching the 666 milestone. In the first-of-its’-kind in New Zealand, race competitors will attempt to survive “Run for your Freak’n Life” and keep their vigour intact in a 5km obstacle race. Their vigour is in the form of flag belts, and the Spookers zombies will attempt to snatch the flags from the competitors during a series of challenging obstacles.

Competitors will make strategic choices, and could use team tactics to find the quickest, safest route to the finish line while retaining at least one of their vigour flags.

Survivors and the deceased, (who have lost all their flags) will then be able to celebrate the inaugural event at the Freak’n Fiesta, which will feature music, food, beer and of course, zombies.

“Run for your Freak’n Life” will take place at Spookers Haunted Attraction Scream Park which is located in the grounds of the old Kingseat Psychiatric Hospital. Registrations from throughout the country will be taken, with hundreds keen to evade the clutches of the famous Spookers zombies. Initial response to the Run for Your Freak’n Life event has suggested that more of these zombie obstacle fun runs will need to be held around the country to keep up with demand.
