Pomare Development Planning Under Way
Pomare Development Planning Under Way
Hutt City Council is expecting an application for resource consent from Housing New Zealand as part of the planning process for redevelopment of the Pomare Block, says Mayor Ray Wallace.
“Housing New Zealand is making progress on planning for the first stage of the development which is expected to include eight houses.
“We have been working with Housing New Zealand as they progress plans for mixed housing in the area.
“Expressions of interest are currently be sought by HNZ and they are expected to close off later next month.
“The mixed development will provide a range of new options for tenants in the area and is supported by council.
“We have met with HNZ and are working with them to facilitate the process and ensure local residents are kept informed on a regular basis of ongoing developments.
“Hutt City Council is committed to ensuring that the rebuild in Pomare is one the entire community will be proud of,” he said.
