The Phantom stalks one of NZ’s oldest & finest hotels

One of New Zealand’s finest and oldest hotels, The Princes Gate, at Rotorua is being haunted by The Phantom!

At 6.30pm daily (except Sundays when he’s obviously getting his way with Christine), The Phantom makes his way down the magnificent kauri staircase of this 115-year-old hotel.

He calls Christine up the stairs to a beautiful rendition of The Phantom and she obliges. He continues his serenade while guests indulge in canapés and liquid refreshment.

This Phantom of the Opera-inspired liaisons are a real treat for musical theatre fans and those who enjoy good entertainment in the company of friends.

Those wanting to make a night of it can stay on for a cabaret dinner show. Full details and prices at www.princesgate.co.nz

For the past 25 years, the Princes Gate Hotel has been known for its commitment to the arts, cabaret, dinner shows and operas. Brett and Vlasta Marvelly, who have owned and operated it for a quarter century, have combined their creative style of offering guests the opportunity to stay and play.

The Princes Gate Hotel is a 5 Star Qualmark guest and hosted hotel. It has been painstakingly restored and includes 50 rooms, 2 restaurants, bar, three hot pools, sauna and private pool. It is situated at Rotorua only minutes from the Polynesian Spa, 9 hole golf course and overlooks the museum and art gallery.
