Re:START plans to open tomorrow (December 24)
The Re:START shopping precinct in Cashel Mall, Christchurch, has been given the all clear by structural engineers.
The complex was busy with shoppers when the first earthquake struck today (December 23) andlater closed so that all shopping containers could be checked.
Paul Lonsdale, Re:START manager, said retailers reported only minor stock damage and planned to be open for business tomorrow (December 24). Trading is expected to run from 10am-6pm.
He saidRe:START had been built to maximum building code standards and had come through today’s events unscathed.
Re:START will also be open on Boxing Day.
