Summer Nights
Success
The 400 strong crowd braved the threat of the rain clouds to dance the night away to Irish band Shenanigans at the annual Summer Nights concert held last Friday 17 February at King Edward Park, Stratford.
Local artist Cecily Shaw opened the night playing her ukulele. The Up Beat Glee Club from New Plymouth followed, before main act Shenanigans who got the crowd on their feet dancing.
“The rain held off and it was a fantastic night for the Stratford community” says Stratford District Council Community Development Manager Kate Whareaitu.
Council is currently asking for feedback on the evening. Tell us what you liked about the evening, what other bands you would like to see at future Summer Nights and what we could do better and go in the draw to win a Summer Nights pack, including a Shenanigans CD and picnic set.
Write to: Summer Nights, Stratford District Council, PO Box 320, Stratford or email: stratforddc@stratford.govt.nz. Include your name, address and phone number. Entries close Thursday 1 March 2012, 4.00 pm.
