Northland Field Days Enjoy Record First-Day Turnout
The 2012 Northland field days opened today to record crowds
According to organisers a record 7,100 people attended the field days with the highest number of people walking through the gate just after lunch.
Northland Field Days president Lew Duggan was absolutely blown away by the turnout and says it is testament to the hard work of the volunteers sunk days into making the event what it is today.
“Everybody has worked so hard to make sure that there are interesting things to do and see at the field days,” said Duggan, “This just proves that people appreciate all the hard work that people of the community put into this event.”
He expects there to continue to be high turnouts over the next two days and says there will be plenty to do at the field days for anybody that turns up.
“We have something of interest for everyone to enjoy,” said Duggan. “So set aside a full day for the whole family at Northland's largest single event.”
