Keep Rotorua Beautiful award winners to be announced next week
Keep Rotorua Beautiful (KRB) is hosting its annual awards function at Rotorua District Council’s Civic Centre next week.
Mayor Kevin Winters will host the 2012 KRB Awards on Tuesday evening [20 March], while last year’s KRB speech competition winner, Daniel Poskitt, will be the guest speaker.
The two award categories are Corporate Award and Community Award, and the winner of each category will receive a trophy.
Rotorua District Council Keep Rotorua Beautiful coordinator Christine Findon says the Keep Rotorua Beautiful Committee will make the final selections from nominations sent in by members of the public.
She said nominations had been received for a cross-section of the community including people who regularly take part in litter pick-up ‘wombles’, some who have renovated old buildings and others who assist with removal of graffiti.
“The majority of nominees are volunteers but there are also people who have come to our notice who are worthy of acknowledgement for going over and above the call of duty.”
All Keep Rotorua Beautiful nominees will receive a framed certificate from Mayor Winters.
The annual Keep Rotorua Beautiful Awards function is being held at Rotorua District Council Civic Centre on Tuesday 20 March at 7.15pm.
