Lotto Powerball Winner in Christchurch Wins $5.5 Million

Lotto Powerball Winner in Christchurch Wins $5.5 Million

Just two weeks after a $26 million Powerball prize was won in Te Kauwhata, a Powerball player in Christchurch has just become a multi-millionaire after winning $5.5 million on tonight’s draw, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Wayne Pickup.

“This latest win shows that Powerball can be won at any time and our Christchurch Powerball winner will be over the moon with their new multi-millionaire status,” says Mr Pickup.

This week’s winning Lotto Powerball ticket was sold at Stanmore New World in Christchurch. Their prize is made up of $500,000 from Lotto First Division, and $5 million from Powerball First Division.

There was one other Lotto winner tonight, also winning a $500,000 share of Lotto First Division. The ticket was sold at Pioneer New World in Palmerston North.

Strike Four was not struck this week and has jackpotted to $300,000.

Meanwhile, brother and sister syndicate Scott and Kim from Auckland, spun and won $250,000 on the Winning Wheel at the live draw in Wellington this evening.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was bought at New World in Warkworth. The winning serial number is 419-00711685-20XX.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any NZ Lotteries outlet.
