HBS Bank partners Family Centre Jeans Day

HBS Bank partners Family Centre Jeans Day

HBS Bank is delighted to announce their sponsorship of the Napier Family Centre’s annual Jeans Day Friday appeal which will be held on Friday 11 May.

The popular community event which includes a street appeal, aims to have more than 120 Hawke’s Bay organisations taking part. Funds raised from this year’s event will go towards the Napier Family Centre’s programmes for children and families.

HBS Bank Napier Branch Manager Kerry Harding said the team at HBS Bank’s branches in Napier, Hastings and Havelock North would be donning their denim for the cause. “The partnership between HBS Bank and the Napier Family Centre is an important one for everyone involved. Both organisations make it their mission to support local people and the wider community.”

Mrs Harding said the Jeans Day Friday appeal would be widely promoted and all HBS Bank branches would be official donation collection points for the appeal.

“Jeans Day Friday has become a popular event for the region and we certainly aim to help the Napier Family Centre to make this year’s appeal the biggest yet.” Napier Family Centre Funding and Communications Manager Kath Curran said the sponsorship of HBS Bank had been invaluable.

“It’s fantastic to have the HBS Bank team on board with the Jeans Day Friday appeal. Their sponsorship enables us to promote the event as widely as possible and the team’s enthusiasm is a terrific boost for us.”

Over $4,600 in donations had been raised last year and Ms Curran hoped to top that in 2012. “It would be great to get to the $5,000 milestone. The funds make a significant difference in terms of resourcing our programmes and our ability to meet demand. Last year alone we had over 1,900 people using our social services, so every bit helps.”
