New Car Prize tops 70th Birthday treat for House of Travel Winner

20th April 2012 – Booking a 70th birthday treat has turned into a prize winning bonanza for one lucky House of Travel customer. Local retiree John Molesworth didn’t even recall being in the prize draw to win a brand new Renault Megane when he originally booked a European trip abroad. “It’s one of those things my friends always say,” he recounts, thinking the prize winning phone call was a practical joke.

For someone who proclaims to have “never won a thing in my life”, John was thrilled to take possession of his brand new Renault from House of Travel Ellerslie. “My wife’s 14 year old Toyota Rav 4 needs replacing, so this is perfect,” says John. The Renault Megane prize draw was available to all House of Travel customers that booked a UK/Europe holiday before mid March. The draw attracted over hundreds of entries nationwide.

House of Travel Ellerslie Owner Operator, Glen Armstrong was thrilled with having the prize winner as one of his customers. “The trip that John booked was one of his bucket list items. He has always wanted to visit Russia, and decided over a family dinner to enjoy a cruise through Scandinavia and the Baltics with his sister later this year.”

The Renault Megane prize draw has topped off a busy period for the Ellerslie office. “Interest in Europe this year has been huge,” remarks Glen. “The strong New Zealand dollar and new services operating to Europe such as China Southern, Singapore Airlines and Emirates have made it a very attractive destination. For those that have Europe on their bucket list, now is definitely the time to be taking that trip of a lifetime.”
