ViFX staff keep warm hearts despite cold hands
ViFX staff kept their hearts warm today while taking a 5 minute icy plunge in the middle of Britomart square, all in the name of the @heart charity.
ViFX Managing Director, Geoff Olliff said he w his team had really got behind the chilly charity plunge, “the staff at ViFX are all hard-working consultants, but we can always find the time to support good causes. Sitting in an icy cold pool for 5 minutes is a tough challenge for anyone and from being in the pool myself, I can tell you that it is much harder than it looks.
“I am very proud that our team was able to raise nearly $3000 for @heart. The charity is very close to our heart, particularly for one of the team. Symon Thurlow has been a personal recipient of the work of @heart. Two of Symon’s children have both received life-changing support from the charity.”
Symon Thurlow, General Manager of ViFX’s managed operation’s team is the driving force behind ViFX’s participation, “I’ve had a long association with @heart, the work that they do means so much to so many people. The organisation changes lives and has made it much easier for my family to cope with the stresses of childhood illness. They make dealing with all those issues much more bearable.”
Geoff was a little chilly after his cold plunge, but the results were more than worthwhile, “We raised good money for the charity and it was a small price to pay. ViFX’s cold plungers were able to warm up after the event in a specially built hot tub, but the real warmth came from knowing we had supported such a fantastic cause” he said.
