Guided walk as season changes
Guided walk as season changes
21 May 2012
There’ll be a feast for the eyes as well as food for thought during a free guided walk at Tupare on Sunday (27 May).
The New Plymouth heritage property’s many deciduous trees have been putting on a glorious autumn display, and the walk is an opportunity to learn more about the natural processes involved, as well as some of the stories of the trees themselves.
The walk will be led by Greg Rine, Regional Gardens Manager for the Taranaki Regional Council, which owns and administers Tupare, as well as Pukeiti and Hollard Gardens, on behalf of the people of the region.
His topics will include:
Why and how
deciduous trees change colour and begin shedding leaves as
winter approaches.
The stories behind Tupare and its
trees.
Good trees and tree tips for your home
garden.
The guided walk will take place between 2pm and
4pm. It is part of a year-round programme of free tours,
workshops and other events at Tupare, Pukeiti and Hollard
Gardens.
