A major
upgrade of the Whangarei Heads Road/Church Street (Onerahi)
intersection is due to start this week.
Vehicles
travel through this intersection 12,000 times every day.
Morning queues on Whangarei Heads Road approaching the
intersection have been growing longer every year, and the
numbers of vehicles travelling this route is expected to
grow steadily
The $300,000 project to be completed
by United Civil will include a roundabout and minor
realignment of the kerb and a guard rail.
Work will
take place after 9am during school term and is expected to
be completed (weather permitting) in the next two months.
