Remarkable opportunity to buy or sell a vehicle

A popular weekend tradition all around New Zealand will now happen in Queenstown once a month with the launch of the Remarkables Car Fair.

The Remarkables Car Fair will open its gates for the first time on Saturday June 30, with registration from 9.30am and members of the public welcome to attend at no charge from 10am to 1pm.

The cost of entry for sellers will be $20, although the first 20 cars on the day will be charged just $10.

Remarkables Park Communications and Projects Manager Olivia Porter said the car fair was an initiative by Remarkables Park to find a ‘win-win’ solution to enhance the entrance to Queenstown.

She said the Queenstown entrance on some days looked like an untidy, used car kerbside market, the problem being that sellers currently had nowhere to display their cars.

“Knowing how busy the Remarkables Park Town Centre is on a Saturday during the summer, we decided to give car sellers the opportunity to have a potentially bigger audience to come and look at their cars,” she said.

“This also applies to the first car far day which coincides with the mid-winter Remarkables Market on Saturday 30 June.

“Having vehicles all in one place will mean people can come and compare notes and talk directly to sellers.

“We think this Remarkables Car Fair will provide a great opportunity for those with cars, boats, campers and trailers to put them in front of buyers in one place at one time.

“We are also in discussions with service providers to be able to offer buyers vehicle inspection, insurance, finance, and ownership verification.”

Ms Porter said all car sellers would be welcome, and simply had to drive in from 9.30am on the day.

“No commissions will be payable on vehicles successfully sold,” she added.

The Remarkables Car Fair will be situated opposite the Remarkables Red Barn and will be well signposted from the entrance to the Remarkables Park Town Centre.

The Remarkables Mid-Winter Market, being held as part of the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival, will be held at the Red Barn from 10am to 3pm.
