Buy a Momento coffee, help Waikato children
When Craig and Courtenay Paul decided they wanted to give something back to the community that helped them create a successful boutique cafe operation in Hamilton, they didn’t have to look far for their first recipient.
The Child Development Centre next door to their Waikato Hospital-based Momento Espresso flies under the radar with what it does for Waikato children and young people 0-15 years with any condition in which there is a risk or presence of developmental problems.
On Friday 27 July, Momento will run the first of what will become annual sponsorship events at its six Hamilton cafes. The money from every coffee sold that day will go to the Child Development Centre.
“Our customers will feel happy that the money for their daily coffee will be going towards a fantastic cause and we hope that other people can come to our cafes on that day and help raise more money for the kids,” said Mrs Paul, a mother of two with another on the way.
“We couldn’t be doing this without the help
of our suppliers who have given us sponsorship for this
event so thanks to Rocket Coffee Roasters, Green Valley Milk
and Image Fusion.”
Health Waikato chief operating officer Jan Adams said when Courtenay and Craig approached her with the offer to raise money for a children’s based service within Waikato District Health Board, the Child Development Centre was an obvious choice.
