Business must be involved in Christchurch CBD development
The blueprint for the centre of Christchurch is exciting not just for Christchurch but for all New Zealand says BusinessNZ.
Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly says the new urban centre will be significant for business and it will be important to ensure that business is fully involved in its development.
“Private investors are being sought now and they are likely to provide the bulk of the investment for the new development.
“There will be a need for coming negotiations between parties to maximise business engagement.
“Governance arrangements that are fit for purpose are required so that business is treated fairly in the process and is best able to contribute to the development.
“This will be the best way to prepare the new Christchurch CBD for a starring role in New Zealand Inc.,” Mr O’Reilly said.
