Masterton Safe and Healthy Community Council is delighted to announce the launch of Carterton Neighbourhood Support.
Manager, Sandy Ryan said “negotiations with Carterton District Council through the annual plan process had been received positively and so funding for the programme had been sought.” Neighbourhood Support New Zealand granted MSHCC $10000 to establish the programme and the District Council have committed the balance of $7000 to meet the operational costs for the first year.
The Masterton NHS Coordinator already provided support to 100 Carterton families and so the Carterton programme would steadily grow from that base. Residents interested in knowing more about the Carterton NHS can phone Sam on 3788900. A Carterton Coordinator will be appointed early September.
Neighbourhood Support aims to make our homes, streets, neighbourhoods and communities safer and more caring places in which to live.
