Southern Motorway (SH1) Works Ramarama to Bombay
The NZ Transport Agency advises there will be bridge maintenance work on the Southern Motorway, State Highway 1 (SH1), South and then North bound, between Ramarama and Bomay in Auckland South.
The work will be carried out from 30th September to 25th October between 8pm and 5am. There will be no work on Friday and Saturday nights so that there will be no disruption to weekend traffic.
The following closures will be in place during this time:
South bound: closed between Bombay
and Ramarama - 30th Sep – 12th Oct.
North bound:
closed between Ramarama and Bombay – 14th Oct – 25th
Oct.
Great South Rd (underneath SH1) remains open with
stop/go traffic control in place during closures.
This work will involve bridge maintenance on the two St. Stephens bridges over Great South Road, Drury. Please note the highway surface will be milled off the bridge during this time and will be smoothed in and out to ensure as comfortable a ride as possible.
The NZTA will have detours in place via Great South Rd and drivers are asked to follow the signposted routes.
Please note this work is weather dependent and may need to be carried out on the next available evening.
