Running 'Front of House"

With Ali Wilkinson in charge you expect things to run smoothly. And that’s the way she likes it.

The team leader for the Meade Clinical Centre reception staff stepped into her new role today (Monday 1 October), as the migration of clinics to the Meade Clinical Centre gathers pace.

Ali has been the PA/Team Leader within Surgical Services since the start of the year, and her new job looks made to order given her background. Ali grew up in New Zealand but has spent 20 years in the UK.

A trained teacher, she has worked as an IT trainer and in IT change management. Making changes and overseeing transition is what she does best.

“I’m the type of person who loves change and will be there to support my staff and help them whatever way I can."

“Ali can’t wait to meet and greet her new team of 20-22 staff. “Some new staff have been hired but the majority are coming from the clinics where they were previously.”

Ali’s reception staff are the “front of house" greeting the outpatients for their clinic appointments.

“It seems to be all going well, with every few weeks more clinics going in.

“It’s been a seamless process for the patients and it’s obviously better for the clinics to be all in one place rather than scattered all over the hospital.

Keen to help: Ali Wilkinson is looking forward to her new role in the Meade Clinical Centre.

“The team are all positive but it’s a big change for some people. There has been some apprehension from people who have worked in established areas for a long time so my job is to reassure them.
