EXPO CONNECTS PACIFIC PEOPLE
Auckland ¬ A major information and products and services expo is scheduled for Saturday, 17 November 2012 from 10am-4pm at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau City. Tapa Aotearoa ¬ the Pacific Expo (www.tapaaotearoa.org.nz) with over 120 stalls will attract and engage families and community groups from around the Auckland region and entry to the show is free of charge.
"The need for an annual event to showcase a complete range of vital services for the Pacific island community is long overdue," says Maile Uluave, the Coordinator of Multi-Educational Support, a Pacific Island community group that has been empowering parents and children with a range educational and support services for over 12 years. "We are proud to be a supporter and co-organiser of this worthwhile event and look forward to showcasing our educational services and other progammes at Tapa Aotearoa 2012."
Various other community groups have also been invited to present their services and provide cultural presentations.
According to the organisers, Tapa Aotearoa Trust, the show will feature the following sectors: Information and services - Immigration, health and safety, education and training, job advice, government departments. There will also be settlement support booths, led by the Auckland Regional Migrant Centre, to help those who are new-ish to the country.
Business Services: Pacific Island businesses, franchising, real estate, telecommunications, travel, financial services, money transfer, etc Family fun: Food stalls, entertainment and bargains galore.
"For exhibitors this will be an excellent opportunity to interface with the vibrant Pacific Island market," says Mel Fernandez, the coordinator of the expo. "The show offers opportunities for brand positioning, generating sales, launching new products and services, staying ahead of the competition and public relations activities.
"Exhibitors include government organizations, community groups, educational, health, settlement support and resource centres. Business groups are also participating in the show," he adds. "We are particularly interested in helping small businesses to gain a foothold in the market. The booths at the show are very affordably priced and this is a cost-effective way to interface with new and existing customers."
