SH20A closures affect travel to Auckland airport
The NZ Transport Agency advises drivers of delays to Auckland International Airport because of work on SH20A (George Bolt Memorial Drive) – in two locations between State Highway 20 and Montgomerie Rd, from 8th – 10th October from 9pm – 5am.
The following closures will be in place during this
time:
8 – 9 Oct
– SH20A closed between SH20 and Kirkbride Rd –
Airport bound
10 Oct
– SH20A closed between Kirkbride Rd and Montgomerie Rd –
Airport bound
People travelling to
Auckland International Airport should allow more time
because detours will add 5-10 minutes to journey
times.
This work is weather dependent and may need to be
carried out on the next available evening. For updates and
information about this work, or any other motorway issues
please call Auckland Motorways on 09 5200
200.
See map below:

Please also
note:
Papakura Interchange new northbound
on-ramp opening Monday 8 October.
Drivers from Karaka
and Hingaia will no longer need to turn right in front of
on-coming traffic to join the motorway, rather they will be
taking the new northbound on-ramp previously known as
Hilldene Road.
Motorists are urged to take care as they
get use to the new layout and while work is continuing on
the Papakura Interchange.
