Road closed following crash at SH2 and SH25
near Ngatea/Maramarua - diversions in place
The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises that the road is closed at the intersection of State Highway 2 and State Highway 25 near Ngatea, following a crash between a car and a truck earlier this afternoon.
The following short detours are in place:
• Southbound traffic on SH2 should
instead turn left along SH25 towards Kopu/Thames/Coromandel,
turn right into Canal Rd then left onto SH2 to resume their
journey towards Ngatea and Paeroa.
• Northbound
traffic on SH2 should turn off SH2 by turning right into
Canal road, then left onto SH25 towards Auckland.
•
Northbound traffic on SH27 should turn right onto SH2, then
left onto Canal Rd, before turning left onto SH25 towards
Auckland.
• Both Canal Rd East and Canal Rd
West are less than 7km from the SH2/SH25 intersection and
from the SH2/SH27 intersection.
Highway Network Operations Manager, Karen Boyt, says the road will be reopened once Police investigations at the scene of the crash are completed.
“We would like to thank motorists for their patience around this and encourage them to take note of the traffic controls in place and follow the detour signs at each point.”
