Santa Comes Early For A Lotto Winner In Auckland

‘Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse – except for the loud shouts from a winner in Auckland after winning $1 million with Lotto First Division Saturday night, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive Wayne Pickup.

“Santa has arrived early for this winner, so Christmas will be a truly joyous occasion for them,” he says.

The winning Lotto ticket was sold at Beach Haven Dairy & Lotto in Auckland.

Meanwhile, Powerball was not struck and has jackpotted to $7 million, and Strike has jackpotted to $400,000.

In Wellington, Desiree and Mike from Kaiapoi won $150,000 on the Winning Wheel at the live draw at Avalon studios this evening.

Tonight’s Winning Wheel ticket was bought at Parklands Lotto and 123 House in Balmoral, Auckland. The serial number is 664-41387534-20xx.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto’s Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy.

Anyone who bought a ticket from any of the above winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet or online at MyLotto.co.nz.

Lotto’s holiday promotion kicks off tomorrow giving Lotto Triple Dip players the chance to win one of 200 extra prizes worth over $5 million.
Every Triple Dip purchased during the three-week promotion period, from 16 December 2012 to 5 January 2013, will generate a special promotion voucher with a unique number. The 200 winning voucher numbers will be drawn on Saturday 5 January 2013. Results will be available after 9pm on 5 January at MyLotto.co.nz.

Thanks to Lotto players, over $190 million in profit was returned to the community last year via the NZ Lottery Grants Board.
