Mirrielees Road eastbound off ramp closed
Mirrielees Road eastbound off ramp closed next Wednesday and Thursday
NZ Transport Agency advises motorists travelling eastbound along State Highway 2 (SH2) from Bethlehem to Mt Maunganui that the Mirrielees Road off ramp to the Port of Tauranga will be closed for 4 hours next Wednesday (27 March) and Thursday (28 March) to enable a new footpath to be constructed.
The Mirrielees Road eastbound off ramp will be completely closed from 11am to 3pm on both days, the agency’s Bay of Plenty state highways manager Brett Gliddon says the timing of the works has been selected to minimise any disruption to drivers and to operations at the Port.
“We have consulted with businesses at the Port and taken into account traffic volumes to minimise delays to users of this road.”
Traffic travelling towards the Port of Tauranga at Sulphur Point will be detoured via the Chapel Street off ramp along Chapel Street, Marsh Street and Dive Crescent. Mr Gliddon says drivers can expect minor delays.
This work is weather dependant, and if it is wet this closure will be moved to the next available fine day.
