Breakfast Treat for Rebuild Zone Workers
Breakfast Treat for Rebuild Zone Workers
The Christchurch central city Rebuild Zone workers will attend a meeting with a different flavor in the Square this morning.
The fortnightly CERA meeting of accredited Rebuild Zone workers will be treated to a breakfast of gourmet sausages, specialist bread and hot-cross buns
CBD veteran, South City New World, and Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker will host the breakfast as a way of thanking the workers for their tireless efforts in the Rebuild Zone over the past 24 months.
“We enjoyed serving a community of businesses and residents in the CBD prior to the catastrophic events of February 2011,” said Nigel Bond, Owner/Operator of South City New World.
“A large number of our customers were significantly impacted by the earthquakes but we have been able to continue to operate for the majority of the past two years.
“The commitment of the Rebuild Zone workers to complete demolition works and commence the rebuild task is going to regenerate life and business within the four avenues and we felt they were due a vote of thanks,” he said.
More than 70 Rebuild Zone workers are expected to attend the breakfast meeting.
