Further Cordon Reduction Today
Further Cordon Reduction Today
Media Release – 5 April 2013
Following work with the Christchurch City Council, the CBD cordon will be further reduced from 5pm today with the opening of Colombo Street, from Lichfield to Hereford Street.
This two block reduction will substantially open up the area. The change is the latest in a series of reductions to the cordon by the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority ahead of the entire Rebuild Zone cordon being lifted by the end of June. After the full cordon is lifted, fencing will remain around sites where demolition, construction or infrastructure work is being carried out.
