A Social Business with an exra dose of Social
Throughout the last 2 years the Auckland City
Mission has been quietly receiving a weekly delivery of
fresh local food from Auckland based social business Ooooby.
During this time Ooooby, a local food business with a social
mission to support local farmers, has contributed over
$12,000 worth of fresh local food to Auckland families in
desperate need.
Ooooby’s generosity has resulted in over 2,400 families taking home additional fruit and vegetables, in the food parcels they received from the Mission.
To further enhance their commitment to helping Aucklanders in need, Ooooby are running a special offer in support of the City Mission. For every new customer purchasing an Ooooby food box, Ooooby will donate enough fresh produce for 3 of the Mission’s food parcels.
Along with Ooooby’s on-going commitment to provide the Mission with fresh produce left over from their weekly deliveries, this new initiative will ensure the Mission can provide nutritious supplements to their existing food parcel contents.
City Missioner, Diane Robertson said: “it’s vital that we provide those people who come to the Mission for emergency food support with a balanced and nutritious food parcel. Ooooby’s continued support of the Mission goes a long way to ensuring we are able to do this.
To order an Ooooby food box and help support Aucklanders in need simply visit www.ooooby.org and use the promotion code CTYMIS.
