Coercive Moves Disguised as "Workshops"
Christchurch- The government, through CERA and the quake organisation CanCern released a letter to Canterbury residential "red zone" residents. The letter suggests there will be "workshops" for people to "discuss their concerns" and is targeted at people who rejected the government offer, and people who accepted the offer but can't meet the move-out deadline.
Quake Outcast is disgusted at the repeated attempts by government to disguise coercive moves as "workshops".
The "registration is essential" again suggests the government doesn't want media to see or hear what goes on inside these "workshops".
A similar "workshop" in November 2012 was held and was aimed at scaring uninsured homeowners into accepting the government offer to buy their homes at a fraction of their market value.
Many homeowners who attended left the workshop dismayed and angry.
Quake Outcasts will continue to monitor these government activities for any infringement on people's rights.
Quake Outcast's judicial review case against the government will be heard before the High Court on 22-July.
