Pumping station sewage overflow to Hutt River
A mechanical breakage this afternoon has resulted in a sewage overflow into the Hutt River between approximately 2pm and 2:30pm.
The overflow location was at Barber Grove in Moera, in the lower Hutt River.
Urgent repair works have been completed to get the pump station back to full operation and environmental sampling has been taken.
Health warning signs have been put up and the public are requested to keep out of the river until the signage is removed.
