Life Flight's Westpac rescue helicopter rescues 2 off cliffs
The Life Flight Trust’s Westpac rescue helicopter has this afternoon rescued 2 people from cliffs on the Wairarapa South Coast.
At Approx 1pm this afternoon The life Flight Trust was requested by Police to respond to a report of 2 persons stuck on the side of a cliff at the Pinnacle Rocks on the Wairarapa South Coast.
Life Flight responded in the Westpac Rescue Helicopter with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic on board.
The Helicopter crew was able to quickly locate the pair who had climbed into a position from which they could not go up or down the cliff.
A paramedic was winched down and secured each of the women into a rescue harness to be winched back up into the helicopter.
Neither of the 2 Wellington woman were uninjured so they were flown to a nearby car park where Police returned them to their own vehicle and waiting family.
