Press Release: Auckland Civil Defence Emergency Management Group
Media advisory No 1
5.10pm, 4 June
2013
Advice for people affected by today’s
moderate flooding in parts of Auckland
Acting
Civil Defence Controller, Bryan Cartelle, says if anyone
returns home this evening to find their home flooded, they
can call the Auckland Council call centre on 09 3010101
(open 24 hours a day) to report the flood. The Council will
arrange a site visit and assistance as needed.
Civil
Defence is working closely with the NZ Fire Service and has
deployed engineers to affected sites where staff are working
to unblock drains which have contributed to the flooding.
“Once the drains are unblocked, we expect the flood
water to subside naturally says Bryan
Cartelle.”
