Senior Executives from Cancer Society Auckland, Kiwi cancer survivors and participants will meet with media to share deeply-moving personal cancer stories on June 12 for Epic Impact Day.
WHEN: Epic Impact Day June 12, 2013
WHAT:
Wednesday 12 June is Epic Impact Day an initiative to help drive donations for the Ride To Conquer Cancer in Auckland. On June 12, participants in The Ride from across New Zealand are encouraged to secure at least one donation towards their 2013 fundraising campaign.
The Ride to Conquer Cancer is an incredible, 2 day, 200 km Ride to raise vital funds which enable the Cancer Society Auckland (CSA) to support ground-breaking research and clinical trials at the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre (ACSRC). The ACSRC is one of the world's most productive academic cancer drug development groups having brought 12 new drugs to clinical trials in New Zealand and around the world.
The Ride brings together communities of riders, survivors and their supporters who unite for a common goal to conquer cancer. Epic Impact Day on June 12 will see thousands of others show their support by donating.
2013 is the first Ride To Conquer Cancer in Auckland, happening on November 16 & 17. The Ride launched Australia in Brisbane in 2010, and has since held annual events around Australia. In just 3 years, the Ride has become the largest fundraising event series in Australia's history, having raised over $26.4 million for cancer research. Cancer Society Auckland is excited to be bringing this event to New Zealand.
