Marine Drive in eastern bays now closed due to pending high tide
Marine Drive has been closed from the intersection of Seaview and Gracefield Roads through to the Eastern Bays and Eastbourne.
Lower Hutt’s emergency Management centre say waves are breaking over the road and there are concerns about public safety with the pending high tide at 2.30pm.
The situation will be monitored for road access and clearing debris.
It is expected the road will be re-opened once the tide subsides around 5pm today
