Society of Beer Advocates Mid Winter Ale Festival – 20 July
Society of Beer Advocates Mid Winter Ale Festival – 20 July 2013
This year the Society of Beer Advocates’ (SOBA) annual Winter Ale Festival will be bigger and tastier than ever, with increased capacity and a wonderful array of unique beers to ward off the winter blues.
The festival has moved to The Hunter Lounge at Victoria University to cater for increasing demand. Tickets have sold out well in advance each year. “We needed a bigger venue to help stop the emails from people who were disappointed they missed out” said Steph Coutts, SOBA Committee member. “In the past we've had complaints from people who did not buy their tickets in time!”
The festival is an ideal opportunity for those interested in beer to try new and seasonal beers. Many breweries will be releasing new beers at festival. There will be special offerings from some of Wellington’s favourite breweries including Parrot Dog and Keruru Brewing. The team at Moa are also releasing a rare cherry lambic at the festival. “Sour beers are growing in popularity and there are not many breweries in New Zealand producing them at the moment” says Steph.
The festival provides an opportunity to chat with New Zealand brewers and a range of beer enthusiasts who all share a passion for quality beer. This is one of the many reasons the festival is so much fun.
Media are welcome to join us at this event.
