Stallion Parade at Karaka

New Zealand Bloodstock invites all studmasters to parade their stallion(s) at Karaka on Friday 2 August prior to selling commencing at the 2013 Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale.

Parades will be conducted from 10am, with selling starting at 12pm. There will be no fee to enter stallions in the Parade.

If you would like to enter your stallion, please advise James Jennings no later than 5pm Wednesday 31 July. Please indicate whether your preference is to parade your stallion through the ring, or at the box.

A list of stallions on parade will be distributed on Thursday 1 August and be available on the NZB website and from the Saleday Office on the day.

To enter your stallion in the Karaka Stallion Parade, or for further information, please contact NZB Auction Manager James Jennings (james.jennings@nzb.co.nz or (09) 2980055).

Uh oh. Bird flu – often deadly to humans - is not only being transmitted from infected birds to dairy cows, but is now travelling between dairy cows. As of last Friday, Bloomberg News reports, there were 32 American dairy herds with H5N1 infections. They’re located in Idaho, New Mexico, Texas, South Dakota, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio and North Carolina. Reportedly, many of the cows are asymptomatic.
