Relive some of New Zealand
Rugby’s greatest moments with Keith Quinn and Peter
Bush
Join two of our country’s rugby icons as they retell some of the greatest moments in the rich history of our national sport.
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 12 JUL 2013—Expressions Arts and Entertainment Centre will be hosting Peter Bush and Keith Quinn as they share a number of colourful tales, coupled with stories behind the photographs, now on display at Expressions.
Acclaimed All Black photographer Peter Bush has been shooting images at rugby games since 1949. His work is currently on display at Expressions—an exhibition appropriately named ‘Hard on the Heels’.
Keith Quinn is arguably New Zealand’s most renowned rugby commentator. His voice is synonymous with rugby action, be it televised or radio broadcast.
Despite not generating the physical action themselves, Keith Quinn and Peter Bush stand as two of New Zealand’s most significant rugby icons, having immortalised moments of build-up, action, defeat, and triumph, through sound and picture.
“These guys are the best,” says Upper Hutt Mayor Wayne Guppy. “When it comes to their craft, and what they have achieved, no one in the world comes close in comparison.”
“What they have produced is the ‘Art’ of rugby. While the rest of us went along to a game, watched it on television, or listened in on the radio, these guys articulated the milestones, creating an exposé of our sporting culture in its greatest form.”
This event, In conversation with Peter Bush and Keith Quinn, is open to the public and will be held at Expressions on Sunday 4 August at 2.00 pm.
Peter Bush’s photographic exhibition is open at
Expressions until 11
September.
