Auckland Art Gallery welcomes new
director Rhana Devenport
Rhana Devenport was welcomed this
morning by Auckland Art Gallery and Regional Facilities
Auckland staff to celebrate her first day as Director of
Auckland Art Gallery.
She arrived with a delegation
including representatives from New Plymouth District Council
and Taranaki Iwi, and was greeted by a powhiri led by
members of the Gallery’s Haerewa Māori Advisory
Committee.
Rhana Devenport joins Auckland Art Gallery
after seven years with the Govett-Brewster Gallery in New
Plymouth. She replaces former director Chris Saines who
moved to Brisbane in April 2013 to become the Director of
the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.
