McKenzie Pool Construction Update
The $2.2 million redevelopment of Petone's McKenzie Pool is well underway with work set to be completed in time for summer.
Over the last couple of months the pools have been installed and tiled. The old changing room roof has been removed and the new roof installed. The pool's treatment plant is now on site and ready to be installed.
"Site works continue at a good pace with the splash pad area starting to take shape," said Stephen Keatley, Hutt City Council's Recreation Facilities Manager.
"With the roof in place on the changing room building, contractors Hawkins can now start the internal fit out."
The upgraded changing rooms will feature two additional showers and an accessible toilet/shower area. This, combined with the ramp into the main pool, will make the new facility more accessible.
