Wellington Airport runway open after
earthquake
The size of the earthquake this
afternoon meant the airport needed to undertake a full
runway and navigational aid inspection as part of standard
operating procedure.
The runway was closed after the
magnitude 6.2 earthquake at 2:31pm, and inspected and
cleared for operation by 2:52pm. Some flights may have been
cancelled or delayed during this period.
