Drivers to expect queues at Te Maunga near Baypark this Sunday
Drivers are advised to expect queuing along State Highway 2 and State Highway 29 at Te Maunga this coming Sunday 25 August 2013 from 11.30am to 3.00pm due to a Bay of Plenty verses Hawkes Bay rugby game at Baypark Stadium.
The NZ Transport Agency says fans attending the game and other motorists on SH2 travelling from Mount Maunganui should be aware that there have been recent road layout changes at the Te Maunga intersection.
The changes include the removal of a slip lane which has reduced the number of lanes at the Te Maunga intersection, all right turning traffic must ensure they are in the right hand lane closest to the centreline lane from the Girven Road intersection, to ensure they do not miss the turn off to Baypark Stadium
The Transport Agency recommends other motorists to either avoid this area or to use an alternative route around this time. Approximately 7000 rugby fans are expected to be at this Sunday’s game which starts just after 2.30pm..
Motorists are asked to allow for additional delay times.
The Transport Agency thanks Motorists in advance for their patience if driving through this area between 11.30am to 3.00pm.
