Thousands of Motivated Buyers At Waikato Home and Garden Show

Winner of the Award of Excellance in the Home Show Best Stand Awards Smeg-Baumatic
The invitation to ‘renew, refresh and restore your home’ was well and truly heard by visitors from throughout the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Coromandel, North of the Bombay hill and as far away as Taranaki who were ready to invest at the Waikato Home and Garden Show.
The 29th Waikato Home & Garden Show drew 30,800 visitors to what is being touted as one of the most vibrant on record. Visitors praised the diversity and the quality of the 420 exhibitors who showcased thousands of the latest products for home owners, while exhibitors were reaping the benefits of a market more confident than it’s been in more than eight years.
By the end of day one of the four day event, one company had reported sales of more than $100,000 and a three bedroomed home had been sold, and day three saw several companies sending for more product. New home builders and renovation companies are confident of excellent results and those launching new products and services are looking forward to a very positive year.
The diversity of the event ensured visitors were also entertained by world-class chefs, free samples of gourmet foods, enjoyed great cafes, wine bars and live entertainment.
The event also saw the judging of the prestigious NZ Landscape Design Awards, part of the Waikato Home & Garden Show for more than 20 years, which was won by Hamilton Designer Richard Boobyer of Richard Landscapes Concepts.
The high quality of the Show has always been a hallmark of this event which saw exhibitors in the huge Gourmet Food Pavilion win major international awards days before this year’s event. Limoncello Sovrano won gold at the Chicago Beverage awards announced on day one of the Show, Culley's Famous Chilli Sauces won Best Emerging Auckland Business at the Westpac Business Awards the day before an at the same time Tuatara Brewery took Gold for Best Pilsner at the Hong Kong International Beer Awards.
The Best Stand Award this year was taken by Smeg-Baumatic for their high tech European design display. Best Outside Stand was taken by Tuscany Statues who provided a focal point of one of the Shows special feature areas.
Plans are now underway for the 30th Waikato Home & Garden Show which will be held at the Claudelands Event Centre 2-5 October 2014.
