Koru Land-Art Venue/Garden At Mt Crawford
MEDIA RELEASE
A KORU LAND-ART VENUE/GARDEN AT MT CRAWFORD STRANGE GOINGS ON THE MIRAMAR PENINSULA
Recently, a spiral shaped amphitheatre/garden has magically taken shape, at the former Wellington prison gardens on Mt Crawford.
According to the person responsible for this miracle, now that the construction phase of this interactive art work is almost complete, planting on & around it, is about to begin.
The sacred space at the centre of this koru venue, defined by a “tree of life” sculpture, is where the heavenly axis meets & playfully mingles, with the four winds.
In time, this site will become a fragrant & medicinal garden of reflection & wellbeing.
This life affirming place of reconciliation, inspiration, transformation & renewal, has been designed to become the spiritual & symbolic centre, of the “Peoples Mt Crawford Reserve”.
The venue will also function as a small amphitheatre like venue for social gatherings, acoustic performances & a forum for general discussion.
This land-art work has been inspired by certain aspects of the “Vortrovia Eco-city Vision", that is being advanced by the “Godzone Movement”, which supports moves toward sustainable localisation, land reform & communalisation.
This creative initiative, like the establishment of the “Mt Crawford Community Garden”, has been undertaken in support of the “Save Mt Crawford Campaign”.
