Snapper news

Snapper today clarified the current situation for Hop Snapper cardholders in Auckland.

“Auckland Transport is responsible for the transition to the AT HOP card in Auckland City. Auckland Transport has made a number of decisions as part of planning this transition. These include the policy settings for balance transfers from the Hop Snapper card to the AT HOP card, the number and locations of balance transfer agents and the customer communications relating to the AT HOP card.” says Snapper CEO, Miki Szikszai.

Auckland Transport has set a $10 minimum for balance transfer from the Hop Snapper card. Customers with less than $10 on their Hop Snapper card are still able to transfer their balance at any balance transfer agent by making up the difference with cash or EFTPOS. Snapper currently supports sixteen AT HOP balance transfer locations in Auckland, including Britomart.

Customers can continue to use their Hop Snapper card for payment for everyday purchases following the conclusion of the AT HOP roll-out. These retailers include Fix Convenience Stores and Subway.

Snapper can assure customers that they will have plenty of time to either transfer or use the balance on their Hop Snapper card. "Snapper has invested in maintaining a retail network in Auckland and the balance on cards will remain valid for 24 months. Snapper will continue to review the impact of this transition on Hop Snapper customers and make decisions acting in the customers’ best interests.” Mr. Szikszai said.
