Box City school holiday fun for all the family

Media Release
Tuesday 10 December 2013

Box City school holiday fun for all the family

Take the family to MTG Hawke’s Bay between 6 January and 2 February 2014 and take part in MTG’s family school holiday activities.
Families can explore the galleries using a new activity trail inspired by the houses, homes in MTG’s exhibitions.
Budding architects can then try their hand at designing a building of their own and add it to MTG’s model city, an ever-growing art installation.

“At MTG Hawke’s Bay we have amazing art and architecture to explore. We encourage families to visit, get inspired and add their own unique creation to MTG’s Box City, which will grow over the summer. Exhibitions have some great interactives for families, it will be good to compliment this with the Box City trail and craft activity over the summer holidays,” says Eloise Wallace, Public Programmes Team Leader,
”families will be able to discover a variety of architectural styles, many represented in MTG itself.” MTG Hawke’s Bay has recently won two NZIA architecture awards for Public Architecture and the Heritage Restoration of the Louis Hay designed museum building.

Museum entry fees apply – Adults $15 and children under 15 are free. MTG Friends are free.
Gold coin donation for Box City craft activity.
